Selene Drop-Waist Tiered Linen Midi

The Selene is our 1920s reference — a drop-waist silhouette that sits just below the natural waistline and releases into two unhurried tiers of European flax linen, cut on the bias for movement. The color, a faded slate blue, has been over dyed twice to give it the depth of a piece that has already been worn and washed.

The drop-waist is a cut that lengthens the torso and softens the hips. The bias on the tiers does the rest of the work: the cloth swings rather than gathers, which is what separates this from a tiered cottage-core dress. Wear it with a flat sandal in summer or with a low-heel boot and a fine-knit cardigan as the weather turns.

The faded slate blue is achieved by overdyeing a base indigo with a quiet grey wash. The result is a colour that pulls warmer in evening light and cooler in daylight — a behaviour we leave intact rather than correcting for.

Care: cool machine wash on a delicate cycle, line dry, low-iron only if needed. European flax linen ages well — expect it to soften further with each wash.
